The Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism is currently accepting applications for
its 2027 fellowship to be held April 19-22 in Washington, D.C.
The theme for this year’s fellowship is Covering the Economy. With so much of our
everyday lives impacted by the economy, the goal of the fellowship is to help attendees
improve their coverage of economic issues by creating a more comprehensive and
explanatory way.
Beyond graphics and sound bites, what should the public know about tariffs and
international trade, the investment markets, labor reports, the energy market, as well as
consumer spending/confidence, personal finance and retirement?
Trainers will be a mix of accomplished business journalists, economists, government
experts and private sector brain trusts.
The fellowship is open to professional journalists with at least five years of experience.
Kiplinger will pay for training, transportation to the from Washington, provide hotel
accommodations and cover most meals.
Applications will be open until Nov. 30 and interested journalists can find the application
by searching for Kiplinger Program/Ohio University in your browser, clicking on
Fellowship on the home page and then and Applications.
Kiplinger is now in its 54 th years of providing a yearly fellowship for professional
journalists and operates out of the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
