We have big news for our readers and subscribers as we enter the new year. It’s a big change, but one we believe will prove beneficial and provide opportunities. As of the end of January, Womack Publish, parent company of the Mebane Enterprise and the News of Orange County has decided to merge the publications into one paper.
Not all of the details are set in stone, and there likely will be changes as the papers move through this process, but here is what we know:
• The Mebane Enterprise office on Fourth Street in Mebane, which has been open by appointment only for the last year, will be closed. The combined papers will be produced from the News of Orange office on King Street in Hillsborough;
