September 15, 2025 — Report for America is a national nonprofit service program for journalism that partners with newsrooms to help cover under-reported topics and under-covered communities. We find talented journalists for newsrooms, pay a portion of their salary for a commitment of two years with an option to renew for a third year, and offer training support. Find more information here.
We are now accepting applications from newsrooms to host a corps member starting in July 2026. If you have applied previously, you will have the opportunity to update a previous application instead of starting a new one. If you are not accepted this round, we will consider you for the next cycle.
SUPPORT We look for newsrooms where corps members will receive good editing and mentoring, so they can do their best work. Reporters must be paid a living wage for the area in which they’ll be working.
