Cost cutting? Check out eBay

You just might find that part you need

The general manager at The Edmond Sun, a local paper in Oklahoma, is saving his newspaper big money. When any machinery at the paper goes haywire, he first goes to eBay to look for the parts. The Southern Newspaper Publishers Association reports that Lance Moler has saved The Edmond Sun almost $1,000 in repair parts.

Moler emphasizes that taking the time to look for more inexpensive parts or machinery can lead to dramatic savings and that the effort is worth it. Moler has found that eBay has parts for much less than what manufacturers are willing to sell them for. Parts that when you have to pay $25 for them on eBay compared to $435 from the manufacturer, save you a lot of money in the long run.

The cost-cutting approach has helped The Edmond Sun immensely, and it can help your paper too, especially if you are in the market for a new printing press.
