Pilot Takes Top National Honor For Third Consecutive Year

For the third year in a row, The Pilot has been named the best community newspaper in the country by the National Newspaper Association.

The first-place award for general excellence came in the non-daily newspaper category and included papers over 10,000 in circulation. It was presented during the NNA’s annual conference in Tulsa, Okla.

The NNA hosts the Better Newspaper Contest each year. This year, there were 1,433 entries from 160 newspapers representing 37 states. Within the general excellence category, there were 51 entries.
