NCPS Board of Directors
The board of directors consists of the president, vice president, secretary-treasurers (of NCPA and NCPS), the immediate past president, the president of The Associated Dailies, the president of The N.C. Association of Community Newspapers and nine additional directors.
There also is an "ex-officio" member of the board, who may attend meetings as a non-voting member at the pleasure of the board: Sue Wilson, chief of the North Carolina bureau and acting chief of the South Carolina bureau of The Associated Press.
The president, vice president, immediate past president and two divisional presidents serve one-year terms; the nine directors serve three-year, staggered terms. The secretary-treasurers are appointed annually by the board president, and serve as voting members at the pleasure of the board. A nominating committee appointed by the President of the association makes nominations.
The terms of office begin on Aug. 1 and end on July 31. Elections take place during the annual business meeting held during the summer convention.
