NCPA headquarters, with office hours weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is located at 5171 Glenwood Avenue, near Crabtree Valley Mall, in the Beta Center. Our meetings will be held in our offices on the third floor, Suite 364. The building has a purple awning by the front door. There are several visitor spots in the front of the building, but if they are filled, there are plenty of additional parking spots towards the back of the building. To get to the Beta Center, please use the following directions:
From I-40 from the West
Heading into Raleigh on I-40 from the western part of the state, you can get to the Beta Center several ways:
a. Take the new Interstate 540 from I-40 over to U.S. 70. Bear right onto U.S. 70 East and proceed toward Raleigh. You will pass a congested area of furniture stores, fast food places and restaurants. You will pass Jiffy Lube and Rooms to Go Kids on the right. Just keep going, less than a mile. The Beta Center is on the right as you go down hill, just past the second entrance to the North Carolina Farm Bureau. If you get to Crabtree Valley Mall, you have gone too far, and you will need to turn around and go back.
b. Take I-40 to Wade Avenue. Proceed east on Wade Avenue to the I-440 Outer Beltline/Wake Forest exit. Go north on I-440 to the Glenwood Ave. exit (U.S. 70/Durham). Go west on Glenwood Avenue, past the Crabtree Valley Mall -- The Beta Center building is at 5171 Glenwood Avenue, on the left. Since Glenwood Avenue is a divided highway, you will have to drive past The Beta Center and make a U-turn at the first left-turn lane to come back east on Glenwood and turn into The Beta Center parking lot.
From I-40 from the East
Coming in on I-40 or I-440 from the East -- Just get on 440, as if you were going to Rocky Mount. This is the Outer Beltline. Take the Glenwood Avenue/Crabtree Valley exit (U.S. 70) off 440 and go west past Crabtree Mall. The Beta Center will be on the left, about a half-mile past the mall. There is a median on Glenwood, so you’ll have to drive past the building and make a U-turn to come back east on Glenwood Avenue to turn into the parking lot.
From I-440 (The Beltline)
Take the Beltline to the Crabtree Valley exit. Take the exit and go west past Crabtree Valley Mall. The Beta Center will be on the left, about a half-mile past the mall. There is a median on Glenwood, so you’ll have to drive past the building and make a U-Turn to come back east on Glenwood Avenue to turn into the parking lot.
