URGENT REQUEST: NCPA asks members to editorialize and push for a veto of HB 237.

The language of the three bills concerning names of minors (with an exception for scholarship recipients) were merged into HB 1212. It passed on Third Reading in the House on June 12.

HB 237: Declares information provided by the NC Rate Bureau to the NC Industrial Commission to be secret.
Approved by both chambers. Sent to the governor.

SB 133: A bill to make addresses of people on a jury list private. Enlarged to make several updates on the law concerning the creation of master jury lists.
Passed Senate in 2011. Approved by House Committee in 2012. On House calendar for 6/26.

SB 952: A revised version of HB 1115 (below), but with some compromise language and the addition of two more Wake County towns.

HB 1115: Bill restricts access to information pertaining to minors in the possession of all governmental units in various Wake County towns.

HB 1212: Merges first version of this bill with HB 1112, for Chatham County and various Wake County towns. Adds in compromise language of SB 952.
Passed by the House on 6-12. Assigned to Committee in the Senate.
