SB 125: Violations of public records, open meetings laws a misdemeanor

The bill would provide teeth to the states laws on public meetings and records, instead of relying on civil action to compel enforcement.

Violations would be considered Class 3 misdemeanors. The maximum fine for a Class 3 misdemeanor is $200, with up to 10 days of community punishment for a first offense.
