| Friend of Print Award |
Lowes Foods
The 2009 Friend of Print Award goes to Lowes Foods, a unique chain of supermarkets that began in 1954 as a single store in Wilkesboro. Lowes Foods now operates more than 100 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia and is based in Winston-Salem.
There are many advertisers who have been loyal to print through the years and have forged a valuable and trusted relationship with the newspaper industry. However, there are a few advertisers that deserve a very special recognition for their faithful use of newspapers to market their products and services. In 1992, the NCPA Advertising Committee created an award called the "Friend of Print" award as a way to honor these advertisers in the state of North Carolina. |
